Finally, I got myself a Nikon CX 70-300mm VR for my current Nikon V1 mirrorless body. I have always wanted to go out bird watching with my binocular and a (lighter) telephoto lens. Previously, I was using a 70-200mm f2.8 VR to fulfill my requirement, but lately, I think age is catching up, and I thought maybe I should opt for much lighter combination and only use the bigger lens on certain occasions. My first test was carried out in a public garden and a residential area. Here are the results with all photos taken in JPEG format and post processed with Photoshop.
This Painted Stork is the only bird that is wading nearer to where I was standing. So, I consider this an easy target.
Another easy target, Rock Pigeon, is however the most common species in the public garden.
Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker is a tiny bird and also an active species..
